1. Applications
-
Specifically designed to increase adhesion and improve the plane of substrates where polyurethane or polyurea waterproofing system coatings will be applied
-
For application in porous substrates such as concrete, mortar, or plywood surfaces
-
Highly recommended as a bonding material in repairs and overlaps between waterproofing coatings
-
Mix with cement in a 1:1 ratio to create a mixture for repairing and filling the ground surface
2. Advantages
- Apply easily with tools such as brushes, rollers, and specialized spraying equipment
- High hardness after completely dry
- Low viscosity and fast drying time
- Good adhesion to most substrates and surfaces
- Very good ability to penetrate the substrate
- No strong chemical smell
- Excellent resistance to foundation cracks
- Non-toxic once completely dry

4. Quantity to use
- Construction norms: ≥ 0.2 kg/m2 dry film thickness (DFT): 40μm;
- This rating is based on the actual application on a flat surface under optimal conditions. Factors such as surface porosity, temperature humidity, and application method can change the amount consumed.
5. Preserving – Shelf Life
- Store in a dry, cool place, away from sunlight;
- The product is flammable so it should be stored away from sources of heat and ignition.
- Under recommended storage conditions and properly sealed containers, the specified storage period is 12 months.
6. Materials Application
1. Prepare the surface
• Concrete and mortar surfaces must be fully cured (over 28days);
• Check the concrete surface. If it is hollow or pitted, it needs to be filled with specialized repair mortar;
• The cracked or permeable base will be grooved and sealed with a sealant;
• Depending on surface conditions, NEWTECOAT PRIMER can be mixed with cement in a 1:1 ratio to fill defects, voids, and damage… to the substrate;
• Make sure no contamination affects adhesion, the allowable background moisture for construction is below 8%;
2. NewTec PRIMER construction method
• Apply NEWTECOAT PRIMER with a clean brush or roller.
• Observe the coating waiting time in case a second primer coat is required;
• Immediately apply other coatings after the NEWTECOAT PRIMER primer has completely dried, usually about 1 – 2 hours after completion of the application (at 25oC);
• Close the container immediately after use;
* Note
• Do not apply in weather conditions or on wet surfaces;
• Do not construct indoors.
* Clean tools
• Clean construction tools with solvents such as xylene, toluene…;
• Hardened material can only be removed by mechanical means.
7. Health Safety
- Use only in a well-ventilated or well-ventilated area;
- Wear safety glasses, shoes, and gloves during construction;
