NEWTECOAT BASE

1. Applications

Waterproofing solutions for new construction and repair works:

• Flat or sloping roof structures
• Balcony and terrace areas
• Waterproofing swimming pools and tanks…
• Waterproofing basements, expansion joints, stop joints
• Domestic water tanks, fish tanks, and other underground parts…
• Anti-corrosion coating for steel and metal structures.

2. Advantages

• Easy to apply with tools such as brushes, rollers, squeegees, and specialized spray equipment

• Creates a continuous waterproof membrane, without joints or leaks

4. Quantity to use

• Construction rate: 1.3 – 2.0 kg/m2
• Theoretical consumption rate: 1.3 ± 0.5 kg/m2/1mm
• This rate is based on practical application on a flat surface under optimal conditions. Factors such as surface porosity, temperature, humidity, and application method may change the consumption.

5. Preserving – Shelf Life

• Store in a dry, cool place, away from sunlight;
• The product is flammable so it should be stored away from sources of heat and ignition.
• Under recommended storage conditions and properly sealed containers, the specified storage period is 12 months.

6. Packaging

• Standard 20kg set, Component A – 15kg and B – 5kg.
• Other sizes can be supplied upon request.

7. Materials Application

1. Surface preparation

Concrete

• Concrete and mortar surfaces must be fully cured (> 28 days)
• Check the concrete surface, if there are holes or holes, they must be patched with specialized repair mortar
• Cracked or seeping areas will be grooved and sealed with sealant
• Ensure that no contamination affects adhesion, the allowable substrate moisture content is below 8%;

Metal

• All dirt and impurities must be completely removed according to the supervisor’s instructions
• The surface must be completely dry before coating

2. Apply PRIMER primer

• Apply primer at a rate of 0.2~0.3 kg/m2. Can be used by spray, brush, or roller.
• The recommended repainting interval is 4 hours at 25oC

3. BASE coating application

After about 4 hours at 25oC after priming (base paint), prepare a NEWTECOAT BASE paint mixture with a mass ratio of 3:1 according to the exact calculation of the amount applied to each painted area with a minimum thickness of 1.0mm

Mixing procedure

Stir component A for about 2~3 minutes before use. Then pour all component B (or according to the specified mixing ratio) into the component A tank and continue mixing for at least 3 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous.

Note

• Mix with a spiral paint stirrer at low speed and during the mixing process, the stirring blade should be immersed deeply in the mixture to avoid air entrainment.
• Apply NEWTECOAT BASE immediately after mixing with a specialized trowel on the surface where the primer has been applied
• Use a spiked roller to break the surface foam; • Apply a single layer with the approved rate
• In the case of open-air construction, a protective coating of TOPCOAT must be applied. The coating after construction has high aesthetics, very good abrasion resistance, and is durable under all weather conditions. (Please refer to the product’s technical documentation)
• In case of finishing the surface with mortar or tile adhesive layers, after applying the NEWTECOAT BASE layer for about 30 minutes, sprinkle or spray the surface of the NEWTECOAT BASE layer with completely dry sand, grain size 0.3 – 0.8mm. This helps create a rough surface for good adhesion with the finishing layers above.

Note

• Only apply in dry, favorable weather conditions, do not apply when it is about to rain.

8. Health Safety

• Use only in a well-ventilated or well-ventilated area;
• Wear safety glasses, shoes, and gloves during construction;
